Yes! I get this. I can't wait to get back to my routines, goals, and thoughts! I love my family but wow, these Spanish summer vacations are long.

We are visiting family in Sevilla in October! This will be my first time staying at any time other than August for six years. I can't wait to experience the local vibe and finally return to some of my favorite restaurants that are always closed in August.

Lol at the summers being long. We visit the suegros at the beach a lot so I understand the sentiment! ;) Amazing you'll be here soon, the weather is so nice in October. Reach out if you have some free time!

So great. I have been wanting to go back to Ofelia bakery for years. I love that little cafe. Here's my chance! We are visiting for the weekend, so it's quite busy with abuelos and primos, but the next time I visit will be for longer. I would love to connect and see/hear all about your fave places in Sevilla.

Love this point about post-vacation blues vs craving routine again. It’s so true!

I am always ready for September and a routine after the wild tumble of summer, and your point about how a two week vacation just doesn’t cut it — we need longer breaks than that — is welcome!

Really enjoyed this! It's also such a good reminder that there's no "perfect" way of living that we eventually find and then are done searching. There is a time for spontaneity and a time for structure. A time for adventure and a time for settling down.

I appreciated the vivid description of summer in Sevilla...could really feel the atmosphere and vibe.

It’s so civilized to have proper rest time. I smile Every time I see an establishment closed for a long holiday … while an inconvenience, it’s also a firm stance for the right of all to feel ease, flow, and glorious slowness. 🌸

Same! I love to see people prioritizing their well-being. Those closed shops are a great reminder for everyone to take the same time-off for themselves. I remember Rachel from La Bonne Vie (seems I can't tag her) commented on another post how she was the only one closing shop in her town at first but then other people starting following suit! :)

Loved this read with a bit of Spanish sprinkled in! I just 'came back' after six weeks off and ready to tackle new projects fully refreshed. This never happened after working a year and taking a week or two off. What a terrible system we US workers have.

Yess, it's such a difference having 1-2 weeks off versus having 6-8 weeks off!
